CDM Principle Designer
Who needs to appoint a Principle Designer?
The CDM Regulations 2015 require all clients of notifiable projects to appoint a Principle Designer or the duties fall on the Client to undertake this role themselves, so Clients not wishing to tackle these duties must act early as the principle designer needs to be involved whilst the designs are in progress.
Which projects are Notifiable under the CDM Regulations?
Construction projects that last more than 30 days or involve more than 500 person days.
What does a Principle Designer do?
Once appointed the Principle Designer (formally CDM Coordinator) will assist the client in meeting their duties, ensure that adequate arrangements are in place for the project, will assess the design team and main contractors for suitable experience, manage the flow of health and safety information, collect the pre-construction information and produce the health and safety file.
We are here to help with all of the above so please get in contact to discuss your project further.
